I plugged in those drivers to my Horns and….. I never had it sooo good!!
I thought the ol telefunkens and ribbon tweeters were good, but these take it to a whole new level. I couldn’t be more pleased with these.

You are truly a wizard, I hope you don’t give up on the research and development.

These work exceedingly well in Jericho horns f.y.i. I now have some real bass, and the presence is beyond belief! I won’t even attempt to hook up my ribbon tweeters, it would only spoil things.

I have heard some mighty expensive speaker systems( JL labs Ber.) at over thirty grand they have nothing on these. In fact i prefer these.

I had the benefit of comparing the DFR8’s to my existing modified FE206E’s. They have hardwood phase plugs, Deflex panel on the magnet to absorb standing waves and damping pads on the basket. On the whole the FE206e’s are detailed with not too bad a top end but a bit bass shy. The “midrange shout” is by far the most prominent feature and as such the sound is a bit “in your face”.

When I swapped them for the DFR8’s, right away I noticed an improvement in overall balance, bass extension and smooth extended treble. This was straight out the box with no time to burn in! After about a month or so, they are settling in nicely and all the above aspects appear to be improving further. I can hear details on CD that I never heard before, and the shouty midrange is pretty much gone leaving a more balnced and stress free sound. I am definitely impressed and in my opinion they were well worth the wait and very hi-endish!

Lastly, I hope that you continue to produce superb products for a long time to come and now I’m beginning to think about upgrading my amplifier to a certain 6 watt valve job!!…. watch this space!
