Well, I've been reading this for a few days now and since I'm fed up with trying to get rid of the noise with my bandpass box I wanna build a deathbox... problem is I don't have any tools.. can it be built with pretty much just a table saw? also I have a pair of soundstream reference 10's I'd like to put in.. does pretty much any sub work? or are there any specs to look for?

It really depends on your listening preference. Many subs work fine, and most 10 inch subs will work fine in them, but Soundstream in my mind would work fine. I have seen a lot of people use perfects, when I got the plans thats what I used, and then everyone else I know tried to get the plans, who knows if they did, but they used either infinity or IDQ, thats what I have seen. Regarding making the box, the deathbox is very very hard to build and make it work right, if you don't have the right tools, really impossible. To be set you would have a tablesaw beltsander, and other various tools, to make everything smoothly fit together.

Some corner clamps would help a lot too. So would a jig saw for cutting the circles. And I used a circular saw and a straightedge rather than a tablesaw as I don't have one of those. :)
