Posted At 17:23:53 04/23/2001 For that sub, you should probably NOT use the DB. The ideal subs for the DB are "small box" subs that require a fairly small amount of box volume. The volume requirements for the W7s look like they need lots of space to work well. From the preview info on jlaudio.com, it looks like the W7 will be better suited for sealed or ported use. Also it appears the W7s will be good SQ subs as well as SPL, so a sealed box would probably be best, especially if you are going to be feeding them lots of power. I'd say go with sealed first, then try a DB. If you don't like it, you can always switch back. |

Posted At 16:41:14 04/27/2001 If you did want to go with a bandpass, try a design that would be specialally designed for the woofer. JL's have been known, in general, to work well in all types of enclousures. But like C4 said, the DB is probably a bad choice. I think the enclousure is too small as well. |
