The unvarnished skinny on Lowthers

Any opinions or real life experiences (good or bad) on the newest lineup of Lowthers are eagerly solicited. I'm considering purchasing a set of mini-towers loaded with PM2Cs. David Dicks speaks very highly of Lowthers; of course, he sells them. I'm not suggesting that he's deceptively biased, but neither do I want to rely solely on his assessment. So.... fire away. Tell us what you know. I need as many straightforward views as possible because once you purchase Lowthers from David, you don't have the option of returning them if you happen not to like them. Thanks very much to everyone who can provide some commonsense guidance on this.

Is the part about not being able to return them correct?

I have not tried Lowthers in the configuration that David Dicks sells them, (I know his prices are resonable), but from what I understand, using then in a bass reflex cabinet, as such is considered not to be a good idea.

While I'm not big on recommending AA, if you can take their opinions with a grain of salt, (sometimes several), do a search on Lowthers in bass reflex cabinets, and try to make an educated guess from that info, if no one else has any real experience with these.
I wouldn't buy them without finding out first. $1000-1500 is a bit much to spend on something you cannot return.

I was considering the Lowthers that David Dicks sells until I spoke with him. He is a die hard solid state man. He actually despises tubes and gave me the whole THD arguement you would hear from a first day on the job Good Guys salesman. I then understood why he used bass reflex for Lowthers. I just assumed that because he had lowthers that he would be a big tube guy. I was wrong.
