Title: Kicker L7 10's in WO Post by gskillet on 02/19/07 at 00:36:11 Well I built my new WO 36x36 with 2 10 inch L7's, they are very loud but sound like ass. I am gonna try reducing the chamber volume with some blocking. since using WIN ISD the 4th order volume sould be .75 cubes. and If i did my math right I have 1.25, does this sound right? My old 10 inch CVR's are in the 36x36 WO with no blocking and they sound great. But I'm looking for a bit more volume. I would go with a regular slot ported box, but it seems every kid with a rattling trucnk has one. I like to do things a little differently. Any advice? Suggestions? |
Title: Re: Kicker L7 10's in WO Post by gskillet on 02/19/07 at 04:28:45 Well I added blocking and gave it a try. It just seems like the l7's are moving way to much air for this enclosure. So I just built 100 bux worth of firewood... lol.. Now i will just build the generic slot ported trunk rumbler for them. |
Title: Re: Kicker L7 10's in WO Post by djman37 on 02/20/07 at 15:42:41 can you not remove the baffles and put different subs in? I've wanted to try L5's or L7's in a WO for years. I guess I'm glad I didn't. I LOVED my RE SE's in mine. |

Title: Re: Kicker L7 10's in WO Post by gskillet on 02/21/07 at 01:05:08 Well I gave the box to a buddy of mine he's gonna put in new baffles and go with some older sony's. I had them in my current box and they sounded good. This makes 3 of these I have built. I love the box. Steve did a great job figuring this thing out. But with the high excursion of the L7's it huffs like a steam locomotive, But it is incredibly LOUD. If ya have time and a extra sheat or 2 of MDF lemme know if you have better results. |
