Title: Laying the HWK down TS parameters Post by asiquis on 06/23/07 at 16:43:14 Thanks for all the support. More questions: When using the HWK 18 can it be used horizontally? If so could/should the two ports be facing up? What testing bits and peices do I neede I have heard the Mach 5 18" driver will work well. Are there Thiel Small parameters mentioned somewhere for the HWK 18 that I have missed? I see specs for the HWK 15. Fr. Ray The parishioners are looking ay me sideways for building this sub but the new organist is very pleased. ::) |
Title: Re: Laying the HWK down TS parameters Post by HT-EXT on 06/23/07 at 16:55:53 The HWK design began with the 15" woofer. The design is a very forgiving and specs should be taken into consideration but not manditory. Look for a 18" subwoofer with good X-max (12mm to 20mm) and Fs around 27Hz to 20Hz or lower should be more than enough to do damage to its surroundings. MACH 5 AUDIO woofers are top notch. I have two of MAW 10s that I purchased for $30 ($20 shiping). A woofer of the same build quality (in the U.S.) would prolly cost over $100 easy. You can't go wrong with MACH 5 AUDIO. If you need more info let me know. HT-EXT |
