Title: Tubes for sale
Post by Randy in Caintuck on 09/29/09 at 04:20:59

I have decided to sell off some of the vacuum tubes I have collected over the years.  I have several lifetime supplies of driver, rectifier and power tubes and would like to "spread the wealth" a bit .....

Really, I have an ulterior motive.  I would like to reinvest in more music and possibly some hardware.  After all, Steve will be showing the new DAC at the 'Fest this coming weekend .....

Here is a LINK to the inventory list.

I will have the tubes at the DecFest.  I don't have a tester, but they all have lots of life left and are some fine sounding old stock gems plus a few other goodies.

All reasonable offers are welcome.

Thanks for looking,

(Tube rich and cash poor) Randy

There are still a lot of tubes left for sale after the DecFest.

I have had them tested and can provide numbers for anyone who is interested.

The general pricing is as follows :
6DJ8, 6922, 7308, etc. - 35.00 each / 50.00 for 2
Rectifiers - 15.00 each except for Mullards and Sophias which are 50.00 each
EL84s - 50.00 per pair
Original Svetlana SV83 (matched pairs) 15.00

The Link

The National Union 5Y3 tested bad ..... so sad .....

Thanks for looking,

Randy

I finally got around to updating the tube list with test results and prices.

The Link

A few of the choicest ones are gone, but there are still some very nice tubes for someone wanting to start or build their collection of tasty old stock tubes at "less than online vendor prices" .....

Would it be too lame to say "get em while they're hot" .....

Randy

I can't believe those Sophias lasted as long as they did! I thought both the mesh and the solid plate 274b would have gone in a couple hours! Blame it on the economy?  :-/

I only wish I could've gotten a mesh plate, but I'm looking forward to trying this out on my CSP2.

sberger,

You have a PM .....

Thanks .....

buzz,

I hear that ..... for some reason, all of a sudden the tubes are starting to move.  I have sold a couple of dozen over the past few days.  I am trying to keep the online list up to date, but it's hard to do and still spend any time listening to music .....

I'm still not sure that the some of the folks checking out the list know what they are seeing.  Even though most (if not all) of these tubes are not NOS, they have a bunch of life left in them and will sonically stomp the snot out of most new production tubes.

Some of the prices asked by a few of the online vendors make me think that their tubes are filled with gold dust .....

Take care,

Randy

Hi sll,

I will see if I can find this information and get back to you.

It may take a few days, though.  My son is getting married this weekend and tonight is the "bachelor party", tomorrow is the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, Saturday is the wedding and Sunday is the "wedding breakfast at the new in-laws home" .....

If I am still functional Sunday night, I will make an attempt to reply to you then .....

Thanks,

Randy

Could you just make a photo of the tube (SV83) and tell me how to pay (and how much)

Howdy sll,

I just got back home from the rehearsal dinner ..... and since I had to pay for it, the experience was particularly exhausting .....

Here are photos of the tubes and the boxes :

If you are interested, I will check out the cost to send them to Toronto (M3C1C7) and let you know.

Have a good weekend,

Randy

PS ..... thanks to you and Lon for the congratulations ...... I passed them along to Cathy and Geoffrey .....

Sorry

Well ..... the tube sale has gone very well .....

I still have some left (and some good ones at that) and just updated the LIST.

I have decided to offer the remaining ones at true "fire sale" prices to finish paying for a couple of pieces of gear I just bought ..... so here's the deal :

Any of the remaining rectifier tubes (with the exception of the Mullards) are 10.00 each.  The Chinese and Russian rectifiers do not come close to any of these tubes, IMHO.

$10.00 off of the listed price on any of the singles or pairs of the "driver" tubes.

$10.00 off of the listed price on any of the EL84 matched pairs.

The price is still $10.00 per pair on the brand new Svetlana SV83s.
For anyone with a Zen amp, it never hurts to have an extra pair or two of power tubes ..... and at a nutty price, to boot .....

$7.00 shipping to anywhere in the continental US.

I will cover the PayPal fee.

"Honest Randy" ..... quality tubes for less .....

Sorry ..... I was in sales for over 20 years before my current IT gig .....

Hi David,

I checked my PM outbox and it indicates that the recipient has not yet opened the first message.  I sent it again.  Not sure what the problem is.

If you don't get the new message, you can email me at the following :

Hi Randy- I received the tubes today. The tubes are excellent. But most of all I was very impressed by your excellent packing of the tubes. When I saw the box I thought you accidently sent me an amplifier!

Thanks Again
David

Hi David,

Glad you like the tubes .....

I know that the packing might have been a "little overkill", but I have had tubes shipped to me that did not fair so well from the "tender care" of the USPS or UPS gorillas .....

Better safe than sorry .....

Best wishes,

Randy

Randy,

Please accept my apology for 'butting in'. I also have some tubes for sale, but am unsuccessful in listing them here. How do you even start a listing? [smiley=10.gif] I see no link or option that takes me anywhere.
 Thank you so much,  Greg
