I am thinking on selling my Taboo amp and wondering what a fair price would be for it, so am seeking some advice.. It would come with the Silver Reference RCA cables and original tubes with low hours plus some RCA and others..

Here's a link to the manual and mine has the same walnut base and is in great condition and well looked after.. Just wondering what it would be worth for now, thanks!

I'd like to keep it in Canada if possible and there's interest etc.

It was called the Anniversary Taboo at the time as it was the 10th anniversary of Decware online in 2006.

Also I'm the original owner serial #004 Date 5/06

Beatiful amp, bet it's well-seasoned. I think the white topped Decware units look better than the black. There. . . I said it. I'm not prejudiced, but. . . those white tops really stand out.

@Lon, yes it is nicely seasoned and sounds great, and I agree the white tops look top notch! They're sort of a creamy white and I like em better than the black as well..

@Rivieraranch, mine is stock without the V-caps but still sounds very sweet.. My wife wants me to keep it so that says a lot :)

Selling for $750US shipping included, which will probably cost me about $100 or more depending on location plus with insurance added etc.. The amp sale includes the Decware Silver Reference RCA cables shown in the pics, and 13 total tubes.. Out of the 13 tubes there are maybe 1 or 2 that are no good, the rest have lots of life.. etc.. There's the original set of tubes the amp came with, with low hours.. Plus 4 JJEL84, 2 Tungsol 12ax7, 2 RCA 5Y3GT, 1 RCA 5965 (12AT7)

Just to note this amp is not like what the new Taboo amps have been geared towards, meaning headphone use exclusively pretty much..

My amp when it came out was Steve's foray into building an SEP amp that would sound as good or better than his SET amps. Plus he added the unique feature of a "Lucid Mode" switch. There is no headphone jack on this amp, and the amp is rated 6W RMS per channel..

Original price I paid back then as noted on my invoice slip was $899 for the amp, $129 for the cables, $65.30 for shipping.. Can't remember what I paid for the extra tubes etc..

I'll leave it here for some days before I may post it at diy, and if it doesn't sell that's a good sign I should just keep it :)

Better to just read through the manual I linked for all the details of the amp. Cheers!
