Title: FOR SALE, A TORII MK IV THAT CAN TALK
Post by Rivieraranch on 06/02/18 at 17:38:33

Hi everyone. If my TORII MK IV could talk it would say:

I am a TORII MK IV that left DECWARE in October 2013 under serial number 285 to my original owner in Florida. I rode securely in a sturdy Pelikan case. He broke me in from roughly October 2013 to April 2014 when he had a 6 month hiatus from using me. Then he fired me up again in October 2014 and has not looked back since. Since October of 2014 I have been the boss of amplification in my owner's place. Everything goes through me! I run probably 8-18 hours every day, amplifying the television signal, CDs and LPs. Back in early 2015 the Gold Lion KT66 tubes that my owner used began to lose their sparkle so he obtained some Tung Sol Reissue 6L6GLC tubes that worked good for a while. Then later he began using 807s. With the top adapter caps I look diabolically good! I sound great, too.

As far as function, I am well seasoned and have no problems of any kind. The only drawback is a small separation on the right front of my wood base. Obviously this does not affect my electronics. Somebody needs to remove the base, glue that joint and reinstall the amp.; or obtain a different base.

The Pelikan case that Decware shipped me in will be used to ship me to you. I have never been shipped, only moved. As far as tubes, my owner will offer the quad of 1940's Canadian Westinghouse that have been in there for about a year now with the adapters; or if desired, the quad of lightly used Tung Sol 6L6GC tubes; 2 new Sylvania 0A3 voltage regulator tubes; 2 RCA or Raytheon 0C2 tubes and 2 Tesla 7DJ8/PCC88. As far as rectifiers I was using 5Z3 tubes with adapters. I could come with either the Sylvania 5Z3 tubes and their adapters or with a couple of 5U4Gs.

I behave differently with KT66 tubes than I do with 6L6GC or 807s. With the KT66 my clipping characteristics are gentle like a little 2-watt ZEN SE84; using the 6L6GC or 807 (essentially the same tube) there is more volume, more push to the sound.

My owner had a hard time putting a price on me, but I would cost him roughly $3,500 to buy today, with several weeks wait. I understand that he has put a price on my head of $2,400 net. He would prefer to receive payment via personal check rather than be eviscerated by the confiscatory fees that PayPal charges, which on $2,400 is $144.00. Buyer will be responsible for shipping cost for either USPS Priority Mail or FedEx. Tubes will be sent separately of course.

My owner took many pictures of me this morning. Do not hesitate to ask to see them. Please feel free to ask whatever questions you might have.  I will answer them directly.

Hello,
I'm interested in purchasing your Tori but have only just joined the forum and cannot send you a message.
If the amplifier is still for sale I can be reached at ericstolze@yahoo.com.
Thanks
