Title: HR-1 Speakers
Post by Rivieraranch on 01/16/19 at 18:11:27

I am selling my pair of HR-1 speakers since I switched to lower power amps. These speakers are the same pair that was used to take photographs of the HR-1 for the Decware product page.

I bought them in 2013 from a member here and have used them since then. Their performance was stellar with my former Torii MK IV amp. However they don't fully awaken with a 2-watt Zen amp.

Their condition is 7/10 on the Audiogon guide. There is some wear to the painted bases. The veneer in some spots is a little dry and there is a nick or two to the black painted top. The drivers are functionally and cosmetically perfect.  To request photos email me at: pricejcp3789@gmail.com.

A new HR-1 pair sells for $4,850.00 plus shipping; not to mention a long wait time for build. Score this pair for $2,500.00 shipped to the continental United States.

What a killer deal! Good luck with the sale! What are you replacing them with?

DM947 Monoliths; better for lower power amplification.

HR-1s are fantastic speakers, i have two pair--and this is a great price.

I do want to note that I have great sound every day running these speakers with my SE84UFO3 25th Anniversary Monoblocks, and have run them successfully with the Taboo Mk III and Mk IV and even a Zen "C" amp modded by Eddie Vaughn. (All of these with a ZTPRE or CSP3 and a ZROCK2). So I don't necessarily agree that they "don't come alive" with lower powered Zen amps. These are surprisingly versatile speakers that with the right components can delight with a number of amplifiers.

Thanks, Lon. Your experience is instructive. Sometimes the performance of a component exceeds what the technical specs suggest.
