Riveriera,

Gary Dews, the founder is a Brit now living in the US.
IIRC, Gary was trying to select a name for his company, and wanted something unique, and without using the word "audio".
Gary was hanging out with a pal of his kinda joking around, and "Border Patrol" was thrown out as an offhand comment/joke.
And that ended up becoming the name.

The rivieraranch user name dates to 2001 when I first registered for eBay; at the time we had 2 Buick Rivieras, so the name sprung into my mind.

Interesting how our Limey friend coined Border Patrol. He should have taken it farther and named products after immigration terms. Border Crossing Preamp; Asylum Phono Stage.
