I just thought that I would share that I am currently using:
Mac mini (with Roon, Qobuz & Aiff Saved CD Collection) to
Denafrips Iris DDC to
Denfrips Ares 2 to
Zecware Zbox

What a lovely combo. Ares 2 is a great DAC. Add the Iris DDC and it makes it a lot better. Add a Zbox and it takes away the slight digital edginess and provides a noticeable liquidity.

I was looking to add a Zbit to compare how it sounded vs the Zbox, but the deal I was looking at fell through.

I must say - this is an incredible combo as is. I've rolled a few tubes through it and it really adjusts the sound well too.

The Zbox is definitely one of the forgotten components in the Decware line.

Agree. Denafrips and Decware sound great and are also a great value. FWIW I think the sound from the balanced output is better from my Terminator 2, although it is hard to do an apples to apples comparison. So if you do get a ZBIT I think you may be in for another upgrade.

CA, recently added a used Denafrips Pontus II DAC. and it sounds fantastic with the LS25. Every step is better!

This is an old thread but just thought I would chime in. I put a Pontus 2 in my system last night with my UFO 2.1 with level 2 anniversary mods. Completely blown away by the sound.... It's like a veil or blanket was taken off of what I had been listening to before. My jaw dropped. I need to upgrade my streamer now to match. I am usually 50/50 between vinyl and streaming, but streaming is easily outpacing my vinyl rig with this addition.

Congratulations on your Pontus 2 addition. I have the same and have been pleased with it since I installed it. I am sure there are many streamers that would complement what you now have. I have been using Cambridge CXNv2 and highly recommend it. Cambridge has a factory outlet store (https://www.ebay.com/str/cambridgeaudiousa), and you can find deals there—that's how I found both my Cambridge units. You may have to wait a bit for another one to get listed, as they go pretty fast.
