Title: LinearClearTone BrightResolve Post by Tony on 01/09/24 at 01:42:09 Today, I purchased my first tube from a new source: "Caliacoustics." Their website has a large selection of tubes, but prices were high, at least for me. Additionally, they sell some tubes through a bidding process, starting at $40 for a given tube. I put bids in on a couple of tubes and lost to other bidders as the deadline came, except for this one tube. I was the only bidder. That could be a bad sign; I will know when it arrives. The tube had the following description: "PhilipsAmperex JANMIL USA 6922 GoldPin 7L9 *5K LinearClearTone BrightResolve." Can anyone explain what "LinearClearTone BrightResolve" refers to? Is it just a marketing term? I have been pleased with other Amerex tubes purchased, but this is the first time I have seen that description. |
Title: Re: LinearClearTone BrightResolve Post by Sean on 01/09/24 at 02:41:16 As soon as I read this: "PhilipsAmperex JANMIL USA 6922 GoldPin 7L9 *5K LinearClearTone BrightResolve." I knew I read that exact phrase recently! I was looking at Amperex 6922's on ebay a few days ago. Caliacoustics sells on ebay and they seem to get quite creative with their titles: Incredible AiryTone WarmTone Warm Liquid Clarity Detailed Tone It was my thought that their titles are made in good fun, maybe even poking a little fun over audiophile speak. Hopefully it works out for you, let us know how it goes. |

Sounds like marketing to me, and rather whimsical marketing at that. I'm finding I like the 6922/6DJ8/ECC88 types less and less as my journey progresses, but I hope this works out for you. |
