Title: Sanity check before grounding to stop speaker buzz
Post by milkplus on 05/12/24 at 20:27:32

Hi, quick question. On my Decware amp I have used a piece of speaker wire to connect the negative speaker terminals to help curb a nasty buzzing in my speakers thanks to the introduction of a new subwoofer (this was suggested by someone on the Decware FB group who got it from Steve). If the spades from my speakers touch this wire will it cause a problem? Eg. Blow something up?

Chatgpt says it will be fine, but it's been known to make stuff up so I'd rather confirm with some actual humans before I potentially do something stupid. Thanks.

I had the same problem myself.

Steve, himself, told me to do that exact thing.

So, stop worrying, and enjoy your hum-free music ;)

Glad you have a solution, but JMO and all that I would not trust my system to ChatGPT, based on my experience. Much better to ask the message board, or best of all setup a call with Steve himself.
