Title: Lii-Song Order Issues?
Post by Doug on 06/11/24 at 18:45:42

Having ordered a pair Lii-Song ZF15L speakers eleven days ago, I had hoped to have received an invoice, an order confirmation, a progress report, or some type of communication from Lii-Song by now. Unfortunately,
Lii-Song has not so much as said, "we got your $2,200 payment", even though Paypal immediately confirmed my payment, as is their custom.  Sarah provided a Lii-Song email address a few days ago, and I shot off a quick note to
Lii-Song asking for order status, but still nothing.

Anyone else have a similar issue with Lii-Song?  Should I be concerned?

Hi Doug,

I received an order confirmation immediately after ordering (found in my spam folder). When I log in to the account I created at the time of order, I see the current status as processing.

Communication from Lii indicated it takes about 20 business days plus delivery time from start to finish. That said, I did read that currently the on hand stock of 20 units sold out and they are expecting new units around June 24.

Thanks for the tip, Lon.  I have since received an email from Lii-Song, and it did go straight to the junk file.  The good news is that my speakers were shipped out immediately after the order was placed.  They should arrive at my house within the next three weeks.  And curiously, the invoice will not be available until the speakers clear customs in China.

One month later......still no invoice from Lii Song, and no speakers.

Lii Song has given me conflicting information several times now, including the following.

1) Invoice would be provided once the speakers cleared China customs.  No invoice provided following multiple requests.

2)  Speakers would arrive at my house within 18 to 25 days of order placement.  It has now been 43 days.

3) Speakers were put on a ship in port Los Angeles and headed to New York City.  That statement was later withdrawn.

4) Speakers have been sitting on a ship in port Los Angeles for a couple of weeks.  I guess that's possible, but doesn't seem likely.

5) Lii Song will not tell me what shipping company will be transporting my speakers from LA to Kansas City.  Why not?

Do I have a reason to be concerned?  Advice, anyone?

Hey Doug,

I ordered a pair of Fast 15, and a pair of Silver 8s earlier this year. It took over two months to get, so hang in there.

I’ve had several orders from Lii over the last couple of years and all took 2-4 months, and communication during that time wasn’t very good. However, I always received my order and a couple of times I was even surprised by an extra set of speakers as a gift (whether for being a loyal customer or apology for the wait I don’t know).

I would just say be patient. Even once they arrive you will have to wait for them to break in before they start blossoming so you’ll have to be patient then too. I’ve never been disappointed in the end.

Two massive wood/metal crates were just dropped in my garage.  My initial thought was, how in the world did the packing and shipping for these huge crates run only $392.  The crates alone would cost at least $400 or $500 if one were to buy them outright.  I am truly amazed at the sight of these things!  And to think.....I have been worried about these speakers arriving safely from half way around the world.

The challenge now will be to unpack and move them to the listening room.  Hopefully that will happen this afternoon, and then break-in will begin.

Once I get them unboxed, and verify that they shipped with no damage, I'll take a few photos and attempt to post them, although, the last few times I've tried to post photos I miserably failed, but I'll give it a shot.

I am very much looking forward to comparing them to the PAP Quintets.

Doug, congrats on finally receiving your speakers!  Take a picture of the crate as well!

I’m really intrigued to hear your thoughts considering you already own the Quintets.

Great news Doug! I saw the crates on their FaceBook page today as they were packing up the second shipment.

I ordered mine on 5/30, I believe a day before you ordered yours, as I got the free shipping to boot. Hopefully this means mine arrive soon. Were you notified at all about the delivery coming?

Hey, The other Lon,

Lii Song notified me and provided tracking information once XPO had picked up the speakers from the LA port.  From that point it took five days to reach my home.

The speakers did sit in a XPO facility for four days due to the fact that the delivery was to a residential location.  They did not schedule delivery until I called their customer service team; who knows how long they would have stayed there had I not called.

Wanting to see the speakers today, I removed the 24 screws holding the lid on one of the crates and peaked inside. Man, these are gorgeous speakers!  They look like a million bucks!

Based on looks alone, I don't know how they can sell these things for $2,000 a pair.  Yes, lii Song's website is now showing the price at $2,000.  So the price has gone up roughly 11%, but if they sound 25% as good as they look, $2,000 is a steal.

I lifted the base end of the speaker a few inches and it became immediately evident that my wife and I would not be able to safely remove them from their crates.  So, they'll stay crated until a helper or two can assist me.  I don't know what these speakers weigh, but they are very heavy.

If you happen to live on the east coast, it seems that Lii Song sets up a ship transfer in LA and then heads to New York City via the Panama Canal.  Hopefully you will get XPO tracking info soon.
