The loudness wars produced some awful media because my album had to be louder than your album. When these recordings are analyzed the spectrum would look like a brick wall and sound horrible. At least that’s my guess how that site could be useful. |

We own many brickwalled cd's from that era that are absolutely intolerable. The stained cd titled 14 Shades of Grey comes to mind. We even purchased the DVD-A version of the same title when it came out in hopes the mixing was improved. Nope, now crap in hd .....just wonderful.. :P All the best ~Mike by the way~ I should never assume more people were aware of the 'loudness wars' era of mixing and recording.
