Title: Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Post by Lon on 11/28/24 at 14:20:04 Happy Thanksgiving everyone! So much to be thankful for. I am really missing my parents today. . .with them gone the remaining family is all at their in-laws if they have them (my wife's parents are gone as well) and I am awash in memories, so thankful for the lives I have come from. Eat, drink if that's your thing, listen to music merrily! And be safe. |
Title: Re: Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Post by will on 11/28/24 at 15:02:30 Thanks Lon. I feel it too, memories strong with Thanksgiving. Bittersweet, with the sadness of loss, gratitude can feel so strong too. So grateful for our beautiful natural world, the great bounty of things it gives to us, and all the good people who have helped improve this world and this life,...those here and those who have moved on. I will take your advice, using more time today to listen to music, the heightened mind state of missing and loving a good tool for getting deeper into the musical experience! Thanks Lon for the reminder! |
Title: Re: Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Post by Lon on 11/28/24 at 15:06:00 Thanks for your friendship and guidance Will, and yes music. . . that unique human thing (well perhaps birds have it too) that heals and knits together. We here all share the devotion to sound and music that is so important in our lives. Truly something to be grateful for! |

Title: Re: Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Post by Sean on 11/28/24 at 16:51:08 Today is a tough one like Lon said. Last year we lost my mom the day after Thanksgiving, then my dad the very next day. It’s been a crazy year since and still piecing it all together. Friends, family and other things like audio have given me a foundation to be very thankful for, yes even audio which all of you here are big part of for me. I consider myself lucky to have found this site and all the info, stories and sharing, it’s a great oasis in this crazy world. I hope all of you find a bit of euphoria in whatever it is that’s important to you today, have a great one! |
Title: Re: Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Post by will on 11/28/24 at 18:06:43 I am with you Lon in thanks for your friendship and guidance, and for all this community that has organically grown in such interesting ways. It is pretty amazing to look back, a big progressive and rich story. Steve, Bob, Randy and all the Decware folks and forum contributors, so much has been freely given over so many years... For me this is a basis for experiencing musical immersion more fully, not least, including the healing potential from natural harmonics... something Steve has worked so hard to bring out in real and lively ways. Taking in bits and pieces, day by day, being with such an intersting group of musical explorers, it seems sort of normal. But looked at in retrospect, what a great education and enhancement of life we have gained from one another...everyone in their personal pursuits having their own emphasis in the exploration, but all with a common thread of making the musical experience realer, more compelling and entrancing. For me immersion in wild nature is a medicine I need, especially in these recent times of great loss. But thinking now, returning from a trip in the wilds not long ago, I am reminded how much harmonically awake music can have a similar purity and effect, pulling us into a more clear mind state, another amazing medicine we can use every day. Thank you all! |

Title: Re: Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Post by Lon on 11/28/24 at 18:27:27 Sean, sorry to read of that double loss last year. In meager ocnsolation I can say that I think like myself you will soon be remembering only the wonderful things, and not the tragic ones. And also realize as I have that those we lost really do live within us, and that love never dies. We really do have a special group here and we can look forward to another year ahead of assistance and revelation. |
Title: Re: Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Post by Bottlehead on 11/29/24 at 05:50:18 Thanks to all of you who have helped me along my journey (musical and otherwise, whether you knew it or not). And special thanks to Steve for creating this wonderful forum. Randy |
Title: Re: Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Post by Coqui on 11/29/24 at 12:41:13 I would also like to thank so many of you, particularly Lon, for all the advice and support you have given me in my Decware audio journey. I received my ToriiMK5 three months ago and it keep getting better and better. I am on the waiting list for a UFO 2.1 and I expect to receive it around March 2025. Can't wait to begin doing some tube rolling and hear more about what these amps can do. Happy Belated Thanksgiving to all of you! Ramón |
Title: Re: Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Post by Lon on 11/29/24 at 15:49:19 I'm very happy if anything I wrote here has been helpful. Tube-rolling is an amazing thing. Once these amps have seasoned in it is amazing how each tube position can influence all the others. Right now I can really alter the sound of my whole system by just rolling a 12AU7 type in my ZROCK2 or my SEWE300B. I've found an amazing overall sound finally and have been trying to not "mess with it" since. . .for two weeks now I'm sporting this complement very happily. But I've been rolling tubes in the SEWE300B ever since I got it! A fun exploration. |
