Title: Streamers
Post by Glenn on 11/29/24 at 15:17:43

I am interested in knowing what streamer people are using.

My system is comprised of a Decware 25th anniversary tube amp and Klipsch Cornwall4 speakers fed by Hermes DDC, Pontus II DAC and Athena pre-amp. I have been using a Bluesound Node X with an external linear power supply for about 6 months and it worked exceptionally well. Unfortunately, last week the Node stopped working and since I added the external power supply, there is no warranty. I am considering another Node or even the Bluesound Node Icon – but am hesitant to update the power supply and void another warranty. And I do know adding the external power supply made a significant difference in terms of clarity – which I also hate to walk away from.

So, I would love to hear what streamer you are using in higher end systems. I am also interested to know if the new Bluesound Node Icon streamer has an improved power supply, or just a better DAC and screen (which i don't care about) -so if you have information on this I would also love to hear it.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Heres’s my set up that works flawlessly without issues…
Sonic transporter i5 with Roon on network main router in separate room.
Mesh router to optical FMC, EtherRegan w/After Dark clock, Stack SmoothLan, Bricasti M5 Network Streamer, USB to Mojo Mystique EVO B4B 21. Puts a smile on!

I use a Node (2021) coax out into my DAC.

I would get another Node (2021) if you liked it. Can you transfer over your power supply kit to the replacement?

There are a lot of expensive steamer options out there. Good luck.
