Title: FS: Pure Audio Project Quintet15 w/ Voxativ 1.6
Post by GroovySauce on 04/05/25 at 19:30:05

For sale Pure Audio Project Quintet Voxativ 1.6, PAP-C1 Active cross over designed by Nelson Pass, white woofer baffles and bamboo center baffle.

I love the PAP Quintets so why am I selling? I have two pairs! I’m keeping my heavily modified pair.

I’ve had the Decware UFO25, Torii MKIV, Torii MKV and ZMA hooked up to Quintets and all are a match made in heaven. 2 watts from the UFO25 just blows me away how deep, articulate and powerful the bass is.

I’ve owned a pair of Quintets for over 4 years. I was on the phone with Ze’ev and he said you love the speakers and you have not given a testimonial… I ended up recording a 11+ minute video about how much I love the speakers.

Included.

PAP Quintets w/ 1.6 Voxativ
PAP-C1 active cross over for bi amping w/ optional distribution boards
White woofer baffles
Bamboo center baffle
Eden Sound Bear Claw Jr. brass footers 4 per speaker used with Wave Kinetics NS footers set of 8
stock footers 6, 3 per speaker

Prefer local pick up, I am willing to drive a reasonable distance from East Tennessee. (Knoxville area)

$9,500

If you are interested, I’m happy to get on the phone to discuss.

These are incredible speakers.  I've had mine for nearly seven years.  This  set-up Groovy is offering would cost around $16,000 if purchased new today, so $9,500 is very reasonable.

I've said this before, but it might be worth noting one more time.....looking back at the large speaker systems I've owned, including Klipschorns, Zu Audio Definitions, and Azzolina Audio Gran Sferas, my Quintets outperform them all by a large margin. The Quintets cost far lees than the others, but to my ears they are simply the best overall performers I've heard.  These speakers play all types of music extremely well.  And you might think you need a large room to accommodate them, but they play beautifully in my 13 x 18 x 8 listening room.  I think they are awesome speakers!

Come on HK! You can make it happen!  ;D :D

Doug, I agree once upon a time I owned Wilson Audio MAXX 2s and I would take the Quintets over the MAXX 2s every time.

EDIT: Doug, did you have concerns about the speakers being too much (too big) for the room? What is the speaker and listening location? Thank you.

Groovy, what are the dimensions of these when fully assembled?

Look awesome and as I’ve come to learn, you have great taste! So I’m sure the speakers sound exquisite!

They're amazing, and worth every penny (and more). I say this as an owner of a pair of PAP Trio 15 Horn1s, and having lived with many speakers over my lifetime.

Groovy,

I suppose I had some concerns about having eight 15 inch woofers in my room, however, knowing that my room's dimensional ratios are within inches of being perfect for audio, having had some prior experience with OB speakers, and having done a lot of reading about OB speakers, I suspected it would work.

My Quintets are currently standing 63 inches from the front wall and 24 inches from the side walls, with slight toe in. My listening chair normally sits 7 to 9 feet from the speakers.  I don't know how many people regularly move their listening chairs, but I have found that the best listening position seems to change from one recording to the next.  Because of this discovery, I now routinely slide my chair to what I perceive as the best position for each recording.

Interestingly, the past year or so I have done most of my listening from our family room which is a full flight of stairs up from my listening room.  I find that I can completely relax without worrying about soundstage, equipment, left to right balance, ideal listening chair position, etcetera.  That's how it's being done these days.

I can't wait for someone to buy your second pair of Quintets and begin giving feedback!  That lucky guy or gal will certainly be gobsmacked!

What HK said…

Run, and grab these before it’s too late.

I started doing exactly the same thing last week and find the same peace as your description. There is a whole set of Beethoven Bicentennial Collection in that room and what has been played lately.

Sai, yes, they are big speakers. They are also easy to fit into rooms as they are not too deep and they don’t weight 500+ pounds.

Doug, Thank you. I know having a big speaker in a smaller room is a concern for many people and I haven’t tried them in a smaller room.

My music room is in an addition that the previous owners added. A sliding glass door connects the original living area and music room. I can change tubes, close the door, being in the main house get an idea of how the tube sounds different.

Hi Groovy,
I actually think they are smaller than they look based on those dimensions. Wanted to share dimensions primarily to let folks know that at the end of the day, they fit pretty nicely even in a smaller room IMHO.

GLWS!
