The DSD mastering has made a difference compared to the early mastering. Right now I have four of these 'fifties LPs on Capital by Jack and they sound so so good.

I plan on getting a lot of listening in today. I've started with Gould's 1955 version of Bach's Goldberg Variations...CD 1 of the massive 81 CD Gould Box set.

Last Sunday I saw a production of the play "33 Variations" based on Beethoven's 33 Variations on a waltz by Anton Diabelli, Op. 120. The pianist that played parts of the work during the play has sparked my interest in the whole work. I'll seek it out on Spotify or youtube. Mark.

Great! I've heard that Variations disc about seven times last year. . . I can't imagine the impact it had when first released, as I haven't studied what was so different before, but it's quite a debut. That box set is full of wonders, in my estimation--the man was a brilliant pianist.

I don't get to listen much on the weekends, I'm sneaking in one disc before heading out for a great breakfast at a "Dutch" restaurant and to look at wedding bands with Lucy.
