Now on the second show, the second night in London. Wow. Fantastic sound, they were reallly "on."

The sound on this box set is the best I've ever heard of live Grateful Dead, and I have hundreds of discs of live Dead. Just a pleasure to listen to in many ways.

Just arrived today, The Immersion Box Set:

While there is a lot that is not new, having the surround mixes, especially the James Gutherie surround sound mix, on Blu-ray, is a big plus. Very nice indeed. And impressive looking as all get out. No re-hashing of the DSOTM discussions before. Just letting folks know that the Blu-ray elements of this are quite nice.

I believe this arrives domestically next month; I paid a modest premium from to get it earlier from Hong Kong. The K2HD mastering process makes quite a bit of difference, particularly in the air around vocals, and audio/hall decay/reverb. And I believe that the quality difference in these newer mastering processes is much more significant than the MoFi gold CD re-releases.

I already had a couple of XRCDs, but this one inspired me to acquire several more K2HDs and UltraHDs.

I just finished listening to it for the second time. Excellent sonics. But the music just doesn't grab me. Such a shame as I loved Insurgentes. To death.

Hello,
I don't post all that often anymore, but I had to post on this new effort by Joe Bonamassa and Beth Hart. I have been listening to it since it came out. It is a bunch of blues standards and Joe's guitar takes a back seat to Beth Hart's voice. The vocals are somewhere between Janis Joplin and Amy Winehouse and the guitar is tasteful with bits of B.B. King and Eric Clapton thrown in.

If anything, it is worth a listen.
