Listening to Crescent, one of the few cds spun multiple times in this house. This time it's the newest SHM-CD reissue. I wrote down, twenty minutes in, "How can you listen to Coltrane and not believe in love?" Just a random sentence that came from listening. I know this album well, but I'm almost always having a new experience listening to it.

Hey Lon, I was looking at an email I got from Mosaic Records today and saw a write up of a recording by the Art Farmer Quintet in the 60's called "The Time And The Place". The original Columbia LP though billed as live, was a studio recording with applause added. Mosaic's single CD has the real concert recordings. Do you have it? If so what do you think. It's not on Spotify but I am listening to the original LP recordings on you tube...the title track sounds good...have six more to go. Mark.

I think you would like it. Two CTI Art Farmers came out this week as well, from Japan. I have those coming to me via CDJapan. One I've heard before, it is a big band date with Farmer and Lateef as soloists, I like it a lot.
