Finally MFSL got it done. This music is wonderful. I have it on CD somewhere but haven't listened to it in 10 or more years until on spotify now. I do have the companion MFSL LP of this Feb 1964 concert though...it too is great.

well, it was June 17th through the 20th, 1970 that Miles Davis and Nyro shared billing. On this concert Spenser Davis also played that night.

I just put some of those Chinese input tubes into my monoblocks...I've forgotten the thread name so I'll comment here. I'm on the second CD with them and they are nice. Comparing them to Amperex white label 7308s, they are musical with a warm tone, they sound natural...or I should say the piano sounds natural. Bass seems more pronounced and the treble a bit rolled off. Definitely less detail but very nice indeed. I think these might be great with the Omega Alincos speakers I have that tend to be a bit much for me on the high end. I forget what they cost but with S&H I spent less that $80 for 8 tubes. I recommend people try them. They took about a month to get here. Mark.

PS...they may improve with break in, also the weather here in Dallas has been very cold...21 degrees this morning, so these tubes no doubt will take a while to show their best.

This is in the last batch of Music Matters 33 RPM reissues. I hadn't subscribed when it started but they let me be a subscriber if I bought all of the batch that had already been released. I jumped at the opportunity, of course. I think a total of 13 will be in this batch...three are from Lee Morgan...I never realized how good he was until I listened to these Music Matters reissues. I have to say I'm disappointed that they will no longer be reissuing any more Blue Notes. I may have to go back and pick up some of the titles they did on 45 RPM and not 33 RPM. Maybe they will do the same for another label. Coltrane really needs some good Impulse reissues in 33 RPM. Or any of Bill Evan's Riverside LPs would be great projects IMO...
