I've been pulling some CDs that are on the Hot side to see how these Chinese input tubes do. I am pleasantly surprised. They nicely take some edge off without removing any magic. I will keep them near and use them on the hot recordings instead of the Amperex 7308s in the future. $20 well spent for a pair. In the past I'd used a pair of Bugle Boys for this purpose but haven't done so in a long time...guess I'm just lazy. Mark.

Miles Davis "Live / Evil"

This LP was my fourth purchase of Miles Davis music shortly after its release and playing this very LP evokes more than four decades of memories at times. Today I'm remembering the years of listening to this in rural Ohio before I moved to Texas in '80, feeling at times as if I were the only person in the world who knew this music.

oh my, I went out to get the paper and on the porch was a package from Music Matters....Damn, it'd been sitting there since yesterday afternoon. I must have a new mailman because the woman I used to have would knock on my door and hand it to me if I was home...I was. Anyway, two new Music Matters Blue Note LP reissues... Jackie Mclean's "Jackie's Bag" and Freddie Hubbard's "Ready For Freddie"...

PS...normally when I'm expecting a package, I check nightly to see if it's there but with this one it was from a subscription and I had no idea it was coming. I guess part of my daily routine will be checking the porch before bed...sigh.
