I may have to turn in my audiophile card. Life has gotten in the way. I now have compromised myself into a permanent position for my speakers in the living room where they sound really good, if not "ideal." If I want to get the most out of the sound as far as imaging and sound stage I have to set them up differently. I was doing this daily but it is a pain and it has cost me a Deulund resistor because the speaker cable I was using kept popping loose from the connections moving in or out of position. So I have the speakers further back towards the back wall than I would like and I compensated by moving to power tubes that can make use of this lower frequency enhancement, the coin-based Reflector 6P3S-E. And I have played around with settings and I have a great sound. I'm now spinning music or watching material and slowly forgetting many audiophile obsessive factors. It's a good thing and a testament to the years of education in set up and selection that I've gone through. Time to reap the benefits and relax.

Wow, every time I hear "Blue Bossa" I think it's the greatest thing ever, almost. Great Butch Warren here, especially on that tune. The rhythm section of Tyner, Warren and La Roca is very interesting to hear, and Kenny and Joe in the front line is consistently a joy.

The Jazz Connoisseur cd version released last year by Legacy.

I love the sort of elastic cohesion of the Ellington Orchestra. No matter what decade they aren't clinical and rigidly precise, they have a looseness and verve that distinguishes them.

This album has over the years spoken more and more to me. I knew before hearing it that it was "great" and that put me off a bit. Listening in the last few years I hear the emotional scope that it covers. I think I had to live a bit more to fully receive the messages.
