This is a killer Blue Note album. Until the ORTF recordings of Larry Young came out on Resonance Records last year I hadn't really realized how much work Larry and Woody had done together for more than a year before this album was recorded, so it's no wonder it seems so tight and so daring from a place of rehearsed comfort. Again the 75th Anniversary SHM-cd sounds excellent.

Another pair of 50's RCA 5V4Gs are on their way...

Just a bit sweeter than the RCA OA2s I've used about four years.
