Man this one is turning into a demonstration piece recording. The second half (record 2 of the original release) is really something. . .Expert bass, percussion, electric guitar and saxophone recording that really captures the energy and cohesion of these performances.

I also did a few tracks from the stereo version from the 75th anniversary SHM-CD. The mono version is definitely the way to go, fuller piano sound because it's not mixed all in the left, and a really integrated bass and drum groove.

The new three hybrid-SACD reissue of Santana's "Lotus" arrived from Japan. To call this a "deluxe reissue" is to damn it with very faint praise. Oversized. Incredible printing, card stock quality, etc. Lots to read. .. if you can read Japanese! Sound is exceptional.

I'm enjoying Kirk. Yesterday I bought this 3 LP set. I planned on driving down to a record store to buy it and the new resonance records Bill Evans Trio "Another Time" LP but didn't realize what a big deal it is on Record Store Day. When I called they were out. Now the Vinyl Evans LP is going for double, triple or more on ebay...originally $25. I found an ebay seller that was selling the Jaco for retail...had 5 copies, so at least I'll get that one.

PS...the Evans LP will be released on CD September 1st, at that time I'll buy it and the double Cd of the same Trio at "The Black Forest Sessions"... which was a 2016 record store double LP release now going for $200 or more...geez
