Ok, I'm listening to Vinyl in the second system. I put a newly acquired pair of 1962 hammond labeled Amperex 12AX7s in the ZP3.

First up is an LP that arrived this week. It has Lyle Mays on piano, and fender rhodes. He wrote all but one of the tunes and arranged all of them. I believe this was his last year at NTSU in their Jazz Studies program. After an eight month stint with the Woody Herman Big Band, he teamed up with Pat Metheny in the Pat Metheny Group

These are live 1956 recordings...not the greatest SQ...released in 1974... PS...I went to the seller of the 4 Amperex 12AX7s I recently purchased and bought three more similar Amperex and two Mullard 12AX7s...for a total of $100 shipped...

I remember as a teen that I was disappointed in it. I think I was expecting the Beatles and not a virtuoso like George branching out. It became one of my all time favorites and still is today.

Listening to the Metheny album now...the soaring guitars are wonderful on a good stereo...
