Sounds best with polarity inverted to be honest. . . I find it always makes sense to listen to both polarities if possible with Japanese RVG cds--one way always sounds more "right" to me than the other, and it's not consistent or predictable. . . .

This is a really interesting and fabulously arranged session. The Verve digipak cd edition I have I considered the worst sounding Jobim cd I have. Until one day I decided to listen to it with the phase/polarity reversed. On my DirectStream DAC that is easily accomplished by selecting "OUT" on the phase button. Instantly became a system showcasing disc!

Well, I'm listening to recent Vinyl acquisitions. LP #1 of this 4 LP set, Chicago At Carnegie Hall first. My advice...save your time and money. In addition to the noisy Vinyl that my copy has and no skips but tick tick tick from a scratch on the second side...the sound sucks. The horns, that are so important in Chicago, are thin and recessed. In a word...It Sucks. I'll rely on my original Vinyl copies of the first and second double LPs to get my Chicago fix.

I have the lp and cd version of the Chicago set. Haven't listened to the vinyl in a long time but the cd set sounds fine to me. I saw Chicago at this time, first summer back from Africa for me, saw them in Canton, Ohio, was my first US concert.
