Though I didn't read through this entire post, I consider it valuable, as every single listening environment has it's challenges, especially those dimensions that we didn't have much control over in the first place. Ceilings and floors and walls will likely always be, with the exception of a few windows and doorways. Even after I decided that I wanted wood floors in my listening room, I Knew that there would be a *cost*. Oh baby, was I right.
I do see rubber used as a landscaping material for even playgrounds. Gets me to thinking.

Sometimes I think they are a bit sedate. This now via amazon unlimited streaming to Red Dragonfly to mono blocks... Switched to this Mingus Big Band album...

I'm watching episodes of Hannibal (NBC) Season 3 on Blu-ray and listening to the sound via my Cambridge Audio CXU to my DirectStream DAC to the ZTPRE to the Taboo Mk IV to the Audeze LCD-2. This show is a tremendous one and the soundtrack/score is one of the most appropriate and best recorded there is. The sound I'm hearing is just exceptional--pitch black silence, tiny percussive details, realistic pianos and violins. . . . This equipment makes sonic playback so satisfying, fulfilling. I count my blessings every day.

Very good Lon, In the past I've listened to streamed shows from Amazon Prime Video ....laptop>Red Dragonfly DAC>CSP3>Taboo III> Audeze LCD 2s. They sounded great but I tired of the discomfort and heat from the headphones. Lately I listen with Sennheiser earbuds fed from the Red Dragonfly DAC. The sound is good if not great and I'm able to listen for hours in comfort. I recently watched the three seasons of "Deadwood" and I'm into the 5th episode of season 1 of "The Man In The High Castle"....I recommend both....via Amazon Prime Video.

Listening to this now...trying to decide to buy it or not...

FYI....amazon prime includes the first 3 seasons of Hannibal... ;)

PS...and of course I most often stream from the laptop>Red Dragonfly DAC>CSP3>Decware 2.2WPC Mono Blocks> Zu Audio "Soul" Speakers as I am doing now...surprisingly excellent...

Yeah, I don't like to watch or listen via laptop or stream to TV. I did watch about the first four episodes of The Man in the High Castle and bailed. I'm a big fan of Philip K. Dick and I just didn't like what they did with the material, I preferred to just remember the novel as it is.

I watched Hannibal on broadcast and have the Blu-ray sets, man that is a beautifully filmed show (with horrible, fascinatingly horrible subject matter) and I love watching it on Blu-ray and my 40" Sony.

We're all different. I actually find my Audeze and Oppo headphones to be much more comfortable than earbuds, any earbuds I've ever tried have been okay for about ten minutes; the PM-1 and LCD-2 I can wear about three hours or so without discomfort.

Cool. I have everything from the Getz on down, and may get the Wes items in time, not really interested in the Thad/Mel or the Sarah (have all I need of those guys, Wes too, but . . .I may succumb to at least the Half Note material).

It's a good label. I wish it success. I've corresponded a bit with Zev Feldman and know the label is in good hands.
