Starting the Music today with Warne Marsh...

The two Mullard GZ 32 rectifiers arrived from Holland yesterday. Truly look NOS...no burn dots on top...steel pins perfect. I am beginning the burn in with the Mono Blocks although they will be destined for a trial in the Torii soon. They are different years with different getters so I'll probably use the NOS 59 or 58 that's in the Cave's CSP3 with this 59....the 1965 will go into the CSP3...

PS...even with no burn in it's sounding sweet in here. I had been running some RCA 5U4Gs previously.

That's an interesting two cd set. A friend gave that to me as he had gone out and gotten all the cds that are excerpted in that compilation and wanted me to explore Porcupine Tree. I went out and bought all those discs too (though I confess I don't listen to them often, I prefer the later Porcupine Tree) and so I gave the two cd set away . . . to someone who has since gotten the cds excerpted in this set and given it away to another. . . .

I emailed them. All CDs arrived though, I'm hoping it is coming in a second package... This is the first to be played. I almost didn't order the Getz CDs...glad I did, this is better than the samples I streamed earlier.

This is a fascinating collection of non-Jobim tunes done by the maestro in his final years for inclusion in the "Songbook" series of cds from Brazil. Excellent sound and those excellent arrangements and "familia" band from the late period. I love this!
