More Charlie Rouse with Sphere...another newly arrived LP from this past week...

PS...I've neglected to mention, today I took out the pair of WWII Kenrad 5U4G rectifiers that have been in the Torii for years and put in a pair of Late 50's (1958 and 1959) Blackburn, Mullard GZ-32s, and since one of them had been in the CSP3, I put a 1965 Mullard GZ-32 there that has a halo getter unlike the D getters in the older versions even though they have the same tube code. The resulting sound is excellent...I'll leave things as is for a while.

Smooth funky jazz. . . Charles Williams "Stickball" Mainstream Records/P-Vine Records Japan

Highlights are alto solos by Wiliams and tenor by Tina Brooks' brother Dave "Bubba" brooks, and some nice guitar solos (by Dave Spinoza I think, Cornell Dupree is also on the album but they sound like a big box jazz guitar, not a Telecaster).
