Doing the audiophile thing this morning as I'm so glad to be using my speakers and not headphones, and I'm putting the system through its paces.

I've listened to parts of two different digital releases of this favorite recording, the first King Records cd release and the first release of the RVG version on King Records cd, with quite a bit of overlap between both versions.

Both are great listening and give the listening a different "vibe." The RVG definitely presents the music with pulsation and drive, and the other has a dreamier, gauzy presentation.

I can't help it, this music has become a steady part of my listening room. I confess it's in part for sentimental reasons. My youngest brother pulled my coat sleeve towards this Jobim record, I was beginning to explore Jobim and he told me to give an ear to the arrangements on this one and gave me a key to realizing this is one of Jobim's best. And in the most recent time I spent with my parents the Legacy CTI edition of this cd got a lot of play and gave us a lot of enjoyment. Jobim and Deodata . . . a great combo at that time.
