Listening to disc 6 of the Bob Dylan "1965-1965: The Cutting Edge" Collectors Edition. This starts off with my favorite studio version of one of my favorite Dylan songs, "Desolation Row." It has Dylan on acoustic guitar, Al Kooper on electric guitar and Harvey (Goldstein) Brooks on electric bass. It was also released on "Bootleg Series Vol. 7: No Direction Home" in a different mix. The guitars are a bit out of tune which creates an eeriness and Dylan's delivery is masterful, haunting.

I liked the Cowboy Junkies but it was this DVD that made me a FAN:

It's a CD/DVD set but I never listen to the CD, I watch the DVD (great sound too). As a guitar player I love the guitar sounds and playing, and Margo sings so well. . . having the guest stars here hels too. After living with this for a while I ended up slowly getting their entire catalog.

I forget for far too long stretches of time what a master Betty was and how much I enjoy listening to her recordings. This one (early cd on Roulette) sounds best on my system with the Phase in the "OUT" position.
