I really really like it. This is a fully orchestrated album with excellent arrangements by Claus Ogerman, and a well-chosen group of musicians.

It's from a decade after the first blush of US fame for Jobim, released in '73. There is a Brazilian version titled "Matita Perê" which actually sounds better on cd.

Jobim really put a lot of effort into his instrumental contributions and especially his vocals. I think this may be my favorite of his albums for his vocals. A few familiar Jobim compositions and more less familiar ones well worth hearing. I fell in love with this album about 15 years ago and always enjoy playing it, I respond to the emotional communication that Jobim and the arrangements dish out.

Knows his stuff. "Greatest" is always very subjective and I usually don't even think that way, especially with artists I know as well I know the work of Miles Davis. But re: his choices: I wouldn't include 10, 11, 13 or 16 through 19 in my estimation of to 20, ever.
