My oldest daughter was recently married. Like any party, or graduation, or wedding, the song We Are Young was of course played—and remixed well—at the wedding reception, and it generated the laughing, jumping, raw genetic exuberance at the self-realization of being alive in a moment of joy, a moment in which any of us at any time and place in life can re-live, revel, renew and—in the unfortunate event that it might perhaps have been lost or merely misplaced— recapture and never let go.

In this life, in the brevity of the human span, this slight sliver of a grander continuum, in the short lease we seize on life, we are all young.

P.S. With three Decware amps and six ERRs, it sounds just effin' incredible.

Record One, the All Stars set.

Put the pair of MAC Silver Quad + interconnects that were most burned in within my second system into the main system between the PS Audio GCPH and the CSP2. Still a bit brighter and thnner than I think they ultimately will be (if my experience with MAC Ultra Silver + is applicable) but sounding very nice and detailed. Detail hounds will be baying in delight with these. If they mellow out just a bit more I'll be happy with them in this position. At the moment the Ultra Silver + that I've had some time are more tonally pleasing, but these are quicker and a bit more dynamic. Steve Hallick suggests these Silver Quad + will prove better. . . we'll see.

In fifteen cases, including this Symphony No. 9, they've used the mastering that was created for XRCD24 discs released earlier; man they sound good.

No, haven't picked these up. Jamal changed his style a while back and I prefer his earlier style. . .I have all the Epic, Chess, Argo and Imulse! releases and have been revisiting a few of these on lp. I also have some live (bootleg) material from this century. A fascinating musician, I find his influence on other musicians (especially Miles Davis) interesting.

Thanks Lon. Going to hold off giving too much opinion until I get some hours on the Vcaps but right out of the box there seemed to be much more weight to the sound then before I sent it back. I don't know if it's the caps, or if the amp was already having issues before it's breakdown that was affecting the sound but whatever it is it's real and it's impressive. Also really glad I added the attenuator which is already providing me a great deal more control over the sonics. I would recommend it to anybody having a new one built as a relatively inexpensive and very effective upgrade. Especially if you plan to use it without a pre.

By the way love that Ellington violin album. A real sleeper in his catalog.

Good to hear. I heard extra weight to the sound when the Premier was added to my system, that may also be a contributing factor if you have the Torii plugged in to that (I finallly settled on having it plugged in to the Premier after making comparisons more than once between this and plugged right into the wall). Nice that it's already sounding very good!

Whatever the contributing elements I must admit that it is very pleasant surprise as I had conditioned myself to expect just the opposite preparing myself for the break in of the caps. One of those times when it's fun to be proven wrong.

Interesting about the attenuators. I've been running my Torii wide open, and controlling volume from either my Perfectwave DAC II or the CSP2. After trying "riding gain" in a dizzying combination of levels between amp and sources, I decided that the Torii actually sounds best to me with the volume maxed out.

Loving the sound tonight, the new "digital input board" seems to have opened up and there's a new level of dynamics and the sound stage widened a bit.
