I've never heard these audience tapes before, and the sound is not too bad, but I suspect the speed is off a bit, too slow. Quite a shame as these performances are very good.

Of course he is trying to get his new Pono system off of the ground. I hope that it sounds as good as he says it does.

This one is making one of its semi-annual or so visits to my players, and it just stays there for days. I love this one, all Jobim compositions, but they're completely presented without any bossa nova cliches in a very modern jazz way. Sound is really good, I'd have preferred had it not been so close-mic'd but no one else will probably be bothered.

They keep releasing them over and over on audiophile versions! Just want a plain jane one. Right now, this new limited edition set of music I've had on lps and cd, but with about 35 minutes of extra stuff that is great to have! CDs sound excellent too.

Lon, I got my Turntable! I picked up the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon from my local Needle Doctor. Donnie, I have "let it flow"....I am going to clean it tomorrow and listen to it!
I picked up the Spin Clean Record Washer MK II as well. I am having a blast cleaning my old Vinyl and Partying!

Disc 4, the Hines and Armstrong disc.

I haven't heard the '90s transfers in this in ages and though there are better sounding ones, so far these sound listenable, and the liner notes and photos in this set are excellent. Fantastic music too, and the mastering is good enough to get them out there to your ears and mind. (There are some pitch problems with a few of the earliest tracks according to experts here and there). At the silly price I paid this is a nice enough set to have.

Finally found a good copy at a price I could afford via ebay.
