I've been systematically cleaning my records with the "Spin Clean" I bought a month or so ago. I'm sure there are better cleaners, but this one is doing a good job. Cleaned my old records sound as if they have had a new lease on life.

Reply #2392 - 03/07/13 at 22:22:59 The new mono pressing of the first Hendrix US lp from Sony Legacy. A beautiful pressing, 200g, flat as a board. Not a great sounding disc, especially side 1, but it never was. Sure is fun to hear though, I'll be playing this a lot. Different mixes than the stereo.

Unfortunately, too prog-derivative for me. I LOVE Insurgentes, and keep hoping he'll produce something else of that brilliance. So far, nope. And I also have really grown tired of the creepy images he uses.

I hemmed and hawed for a long time and then bought the Spin-Clean. It does a good job.

I've been surprised at how well many of my records have cleaned up. There are some that look awful that will clean up well, and some that won't, they're still bad after several good cleanings. Still, I had considered looking for new copies of several records and changed my mind after good cleanings.
