cool, I was just curious...I know you've really been enjoying getting back into vinyl, and I'm enjoying getting into vinyl for the first time really

I'm considering a machine to clean my LP's....like maybe the VPI 16.5...I manually clean my records now (record doctor stuff) and have to devote several hours to doing so, so I can clean multiple records at a time and not worry about it for a while. But...it would be nice to clean them faster and more efficiently with a machine. So that when I pick up some used vinyl I can play it right away after a quick clean....as opposed to scheduling a time to clean a bunch together and having to wait. It IS a labor of love, cleaning my records....but, if I could use that time listening instead......Maybe later this year

I know, I kept thinking I wanted a VPI, no wait a Nitty Gritty, no. . . well I just didn't want to spend the money which is a sad excuse as I really haven't much compunction spending money. Something kept holding me back so I went with the Spin-Clean. Baby steps. I'm not buying a lot of vinyl at the moment, and I'm taking my time going through my collection systematically cleaning them in batches of 30 or 40 at a time. Most of my records have never been cleaned this way.

I'm loving the sound of vinyl. It's totally sucked me in. Seems I'm not alone. Wink

I agree with the ranking. Insurgentes is in another class. On first listen, Raven seems a bit forced, not contrived, but forced. The BluRay audio quality is excellent though, and some of the individual instrument work is very impressive.

The good thing is Wilson is really into this stuff, and he (in this case in tandem with Allan Parson!) makes these awesome recordings.

He loves the 'seventies prog stuff the way that I love the jazz of the second half of the 'fifties and early 'sixties. And that makes sense to me, we both were exposed to that music as kids, about the same age. I just am not that big a fan of 'seventies prog, was at the time, but don't need to hear it sort of coutnerfeited now.
