For some reason when I was a kid we had a single of Eastwood singing "I Talk to the Trees." It was alright. I think the B-Side had Lee Marvin singing. From a film, "Paint Your Wagon" I think.

I have taken the time to seperate all the LP cartons from all the CD cartons. I can stack the CDs several high with no worries - freeing up some shelf area for organizing some of these albums.

First deep grab I found this Yes Box collection. Obviously, I dug to the bottom where all the box sets were and the purple edge caught my early glance.

Not playing many here, but I mainly want to hear the remaster work. I think they did a good job making the CDs sound good on the ones which I have given a listen.
I have an older CD of "Fragile" and it sounds tinny and harsh.
This one sounds much better.

This was a gift and a very nice one. I'm facing late Pepper again. . . not my favorite period generally, but the complete sets on this set and the excellent sound are helping. I like the more mellow pieces here where Art has the time to blow gently.

On CD, B.B. King, King Of The Blues, right now. This is apparently the '92 remastered version of the box set, later re-released in 2000 which I have now, according to what I can glean from Discogs info.

I won't say there is a huge variation in the King's sound over decades, but he kept up with changes as time progressed.
This one spans some time.

Being a kind of car guy, most of us Hyper-Y Chromosome types name our cars. My car is named, Lucille. I've always been a B.B. King fan!

I have balked at Bob Dylan in the past, but I have mellowed over the years and come to love what he is about.

I was not expecting to find this set in the stack.
But, after just a few skims, I am going to treasure this collection. My very first Dylan box set is cranked and running.
I am working in the garage today, so this is going through an old Bluray player straight into my mono rig, for right now. Still an amazing, larger than life sound.

Well, we've listened to several artists alike at the same time.

I had that set. .. ended up replacing the individual albums with Mobile Fidelity SACDs and Sony Blu-Spec CD2 releases. I was never crazy about early Dylan but in the 'nineties I realized how important those release were and I got the bug for all Dylan. I've really grown to love the rootsy Dylan from "Time Out of Mind" forward.

As I mentioned I really did not listen much in the past. I was always a fan of his "poetry" and even his delivery on many performances. I have a lot to learn.

I myself am not a Sinatra fan, but I think Dylan's arrangements and interpretations of these songs are great. Many are horrified!

Thank you, Lon for all the un-googleable info.

For now I am spinning another set, not really boxed as I would call it, but three CDs in one little container.
Oscar Peterson, Ballads, Blues & Bossa Nova

This will keep me going for a while!!

Only problem is that we have people dropped by to see our new home, almost two years late. Wife's school mates with grandkids.
I already like the grandpa guy and he has no idea what is going on in my garage, as yet. That will change at half time.

Anyway, I have football playing elsewhere and "friends" to serve.

So I will leave this first on repeat until I can sit back and enjoy it properly.
Taking the set inside once the guests leave.

I hate having to admit that something I had high hopes for is "almost really good."

I just got these in from an eBay seller and they are in the pile for tonight after things settle around here.
I know we have both enjoyed some Weather Report from time to time.

Before these two though, I am going to give that Oscar Peterson I mentioned earlier another chance. I was interupted last time.

No, I'm not going to play it.

My daughter and I did an antique shop run today. I found this thing in a junk bin all for $1 each. I never thought I would find "my thing" in that bin. But this is pristine and hardly used, as one might expect, but to find one of these still running in the wild somewhere, astounding.

I can not find anything showing any date of manufacture, but from the label I know this is early stereo stuff.

The spec page states that this LP conforms to the 1928 - 1955 characteristics and warns that you are to use only RIAA equalization curves.

There were other ways of doing things in those days. I had an old preamp that had a three position switch to set your EQ curve to match the recording. Not sure what happened to it. It was a Realistic piece, which I considered junk way back then.

Lots more in the booklet. Such an odd and fun find!
