This album is a special one. Just came in from Acoustic sounds. This gets played religiously in my house when I’m streaming. It has been on back order for a very very long time. I almost forgot that I put in a request to get notified when it was available.

The Oscar Peterson Trio “We get Requests” on 180g vinyl from Analogue Productions. Limited edition vinyl that was cut from the original master tapes.

Phenomenal on vinyl and the instruments sound so real….even with my new speaker capacitors.

Antonio Carlos Jobim and Banda Nova "Familia" Som Livre cd (also issued as "Amazonas")

Almost 20 years after the masterwork "Matita Pere" Tom and his band of friends and family revisit much of the material in condensed new arrangements. The production and mix by Jacques Morelenbaum are part of the unique, dense sound this one has, and the four lovely singers in the chorus bring an extra alluring texture. A good one indeed for a rainy Sunday morning.

Seems like you have given that one a spin recently as well.

I do that, too. Many times, after an hour or two or a day or two, I grab an album I enjoyed a bit ago and give it a deeper listen.

For now, Milt Jackson and Ray Charles (kind of getting into more Ray Charles at the moment), Soul Brothers
An interesting eBay find. Nice sounding disc!

Hello, "Other" Lon. Just wanted to say that I really like this Jarrett Solo Concert recording! I first heard it on the University radio station around 1977 when I was in college, which prompted me to buy the album. And was listening to it again earlier this month.

I think the "Kolm Concert" recording came out later, and was a big seller, but I remain particularly partial to Breman/Lausanne.

The piano detail especially draws one in. It doesn't quite unseat my previous favorite editon, the Japanese "24 bit by RVG" which has such a meaty presentation.

Simply enamored with the roll of tape. Definitely a notch above vinyl! This player makes it very easy to change sides but the loading process can be testy.

I had brunch with some friends this morning. Turns out my buddy Jonathan made an album and released it. I’ve been to the Knoxville symphony a few times with him and had no idea he was working on this. I'm inviting him over to listen to some music one of these weekends.
