I think Lon turned me on to this CD, which includes his "Tender Gender" album, which I am glad to have on CD now!
Just so I don't repeat myself with the same recording so soon after my prior post, I am now listening to
Jimmy Smith on "
Back at the Chicken Shack" from 1963, which has Kenny Burrell on guitar, Stanley Turrentine on tenor sax, and Donald Bailey on drums:
(Note that my version is a CD in a "Five Original Albums" set, which looks like the picture above which is from the original 1963 LP). Very bluesy playing by all involved. Kenny Burrell is mostly playing rhythm guitar, with sax and organ taking most of the solos.
