The 300B-Z power tubes have inched into another "phase" (each little inch has been a subtle improvement) and I rolled in my best pair of 6085, pinched waist very early models, into the ZROCK2 and the SEWE300B input. So after a day of warming up I'm analyzing by playing one of the recordings I know incredibly well and use to evaluate.

Just finished listening to Kenny Burrell on "Soulero:"

I think Lon turned me on to this CD, which includes his "Tender Gender" album, which I am glad to have on CD now!

Just so I don't repeat myself with the same recording so soon after my prior post, I am now listening to Jimmy Smith on "Back at the Chicken Shack" from 1963, which has Kenny Burrell on guitar, Stanley Turrentine on tenor sax, and Donald Bailey on drums:

(Note that my version is a CD in a "Five Original Albums" set, which looks like the picture above which is from the original 1963 LP). Very bluesy playing by all involved. Kenny Burrell is mostly playing rhythm guitar, with sax and organ taking most of the solos.

Currently streaming this album in my work vehicle through my Audio Quest Dragonfly Red. This album has a nice groove and is very much enjoyable.
