I´m sorry to hear about your loss Lon. I often seem to see my late cat out of the corner of my eye, never as much as when I play this one:

Especially when the "star struck lovers" plays, and memories of my old gal sitting next to me on the couch listening to records with me, seems some how to manifest when Jonny Hodges´s lamentation reaches it´s high-point..

funny how Duke seems to make things a little better.

It seems something is missing all the time for my wife and I. . . this will get better, it just takes time. We went through this over nine years ago when Lucinda lost her dachshund of 16 years. I gave this disc its probably fourth SpinClean cleaning and it does sound cleaner.

Wish this were reissued on cd!

Sound is surprisingly good. I bought this about 7 years ago and haven't listened to it much. Mostly small group sides, 1933-1941

Going to be a wet, slightly soggy day. Getting some listening in before I have to get ready to go to a public gathering in Mentor with my wife and a few neighbors. Supposed to be a bit rainy, hope we can avoid a lot of the rain.

I wanted to start off with the second disc of this set. . . but it won't load in the transport. Sigh. I'll try again in another transport later.

"Bill Evans - Further Ahead: Live in Finland 1964-1969" Elemental Music 2 cd set

So on to Joel Ross "The Parable of the Poet," Blue Note cd. I've been wanting to revisit this excellent disc for a while.
