PS...Lon, I went to Mosaic's website to investigate further. The first 42 sets 101 to 142) were the non-180 gm Vinyl and and are listed as MR on the LPs. Starting with set 143, Charles Mingus' 1959 CBS Recordings, they are referred to as MQ on the record. In the listings they were referred to as below...But there were still a couple sets not made with the 180gm Q Vinyl after #142 and at some point they made most sets with only CD versions.
#142 The Complete CBS Studio Recordings of Woody Shaw (3 CDs or 4 LPs)
#143 The Complete 1959 CBS Charles Mingus Sessions (4 Q-LPs)
PSS...on looking further at the OOP section, there are a lot not designated with the Q-LP label...I hope they just didn't list it correctly. For example, Bill Evans' Complete 1980 10 LP at the Village Vanguard Box only has the LP not the Q-LP designation...that would be a shame if true. Mark.
http://www.mosaicrecords.com/outofprint.asp Cool. I had the MIngus LP set but someone wanted it so badly I sold it to them when I wasn't running a turntable.
I don't remember if the Evans wer QLPs or not. I know the Miles sets all were and I wish I had them.
Marky, I used to listen to QMS way back when, and even when I briefly lived in SF. But haven't in a long time and don't think I have any of their material.
Greg Porter? I heard a bit of his debut and wasn't knocked out.
