PS...I put the GE triple Mica 5751s back in the ZP3 and put a 1960 Tung Sol 5U4G Rectifier in the CSP3. The music has been incredible tonight. I think the HR-1s must have just hit some milestone in their break in...I have no idea how many hours I have on them.

I've been busy this morning sipping coffee, buying tubes on ebay and reading/sending emails. These are the first two CDs I've played on the monos I bought from Mike. They sound so good, I almost feel like I stole them...almost...hehe. Thanks Mike for wanting to raise the dough! Anyway here's what I've been listening to this morning. After two years of "not being up to church" (very strange for my minister dad and his wife) they have gone four Sundays in a row now. The church members make a big fuss over them when they appear, which helps.

OK, I have tried a song off of several CDs this morning before settling on this. I'm trying to get a handle on a pair of tubes I bought from Jeff for $12 https://www.decware.com/cgi-bin/yabb22/YaBB.pl?num=1400526848 ...50's RCA 6BQ7As...I went back and read the thread again and will take Will's experience and buy some Brimar 6BQ7As. This type is said to be similar to the Russian 6N1P that so many like and comes stock in many Decware Amps. At first I put them in and on listening to the Monos without warm up they sounded a bit fuzzy compared to the Amperex 7308s I had in there previously but now after warm up the fuzziness is mostly gone and they sound detailed and warm with nice Bass...way better than tubes costing $6 a piece have a right to sound! I'll keep them in there for a few days and look for some more of this tube type to try...they are very cheap.

On a side note, yesterday I bought a pair of 1964 Amperex Bugle Boy 6DJ8 tubes to try. Input tubes are my next focus of experimentation, with the tube to beat being the 60's Amperex 7308s I have in the Torii and until this morning, the Monos. Mark.

PS...I just began the second CD...one I recently listened to to compare but my Audio Memory is very very short.
