I think it is mostly Lon who has created these awesome threads and kept them going for months at a time, when we all were too busy to post much.

Honestly, I think I know Lon well enough (from this site only, mind you) that he would have no problem at all with MORE back and forth comments between posters. If one person found a new music to listen to then all the talk about it would just build the fire.

I feel that Lon will agree: Recommend away!!

In fact, I'll start.
I usually only give Newish jazz a short listen, but I found this in a discount bin and I really like it a lot, despite it "being a girl and she is Japanese."

It is good stuff!

DD, Junko always plays awesomely, all her Blue Note and Something Else records are great!

I absolutely agree with you, recommendations here are great to read and write, and appropriate imo in this thread.

No music for me. I brought a personal Blu-ray player with me, but left the remote at home and can't turn it on! Was going to listen to music here in the hotel room but now I can't. But at my pal Dave's I listened to a great Kenny Barron cd with the late Charlie Haden and the great Roy Haynes.

I mentioned the massive vinyl strike I lucked into; this is another one I have cleaned and sanitized over the past couple of days.
From what I am told on the Steve Hoffman forum, this is an extremely rare LP.
I love every second of it! I generally enjoy Bari-sax players.

At first I wasn't sure, but it has grown on me with every spin and is definitely a standout in my stack of new music. I am also really enjoying the new War on Drugs album...

@ JD, what a pair up! You know the whole time I was watching it I was thinking how much he sounded like Eddie Vedder, except not as deep of a barritone as Vedder for sure. Then there's a YouTube video of Glenn Hansard and Eddie Vedder performing the hit song Falling Slowly from the movie. IMO Hansard has a great voice and his lyrics are very interesting.

@ LR, check it out! You won't regret it, I would think your girl will like it too, aside from the great music the story is pretty cool.

p.s. forgot to mention there's going to be a Broadway type play of this very soon, if not already out.

It's still on Broadway and has begun a touring company as of October 2013. I'll be seeing it here in Dallas in December.
