somehwere.I'm not really big on tribute albums. I think one of my favorites is a recently released one of Bob Dylan 'eighties music, and one reason I like it a lot is that there's a cadre of musicians shared on a lot of the tunes giving it a homogeneity that is lacking in a lot of compilations and tribute albums. I prefer this homogeneity to the wide variances you can find from track to track on many of these.
Right now, back at my foks. Oddly, though my folks don't lke a lot of jazz for the most part any longer (they did when I was younger, that's partly where I got the love) they love Earl Hines, which makes sense as he is both traditional AND modern, through and through. Genius.
