"Control" is the right word too for the playback.

Sound is so so good. We're so lucky. Steve's components have truly enriched our lives.

It sounds so good. I wish I could stop tinkering, stop futzing, stop rolling, stop tweaking.

But I know I won't, can't. It's sort of a sickness, but at least it's one that's only really harmful to my financial health. . .and sometimes my peace of mind.

But when you can be rewarded by sound like this, it seems worth it!

Gave my deck a good sort out this week. Raised the arm to make adjusting to the King Crimson 200gm albums possible without having to scew the adjusting lug so much that the pivot got tight. Found that the stylus which was set up right wasn`t equidistant from the deck spindle and arm pivot, so got that spot on. The digital stylus guage arrived today. I was 1/2 gm over with the balance scale! Set it to 2gms. Result is tangibly for the better. It`s all come together and the Decware amps are singing and projecting into the room like never before. I`ve also changed the room around completely, going from speakers accoss the width, to listening longways. I`ll get some pics up soon.

Reply #6224 - 11/02/14 at 14:40:37 Got inspired to play (by a bad album that sounded like it was trying to sound like) Melissa Etheridge - this is a classic album for me that has some history of late nights driving around with friends, this cranking in a boom box because the stereo in the car was broke. I'm pretty sure we wore out the cassette tape.

Yes I believe it is. I have the original release from '75 but recently put in an order for the remaining tracks that were released Tuesday I think.

Psyched to hear it i've gone on quite a spending spree on records lately. From Traffic to Yusef Lateef, Bill Hall, Chico Hamilton, some French female singers and some Pink Floyd vinyl. Tough to sit here at work knowing they are all at home wanting to be played.

Sadly, Tool isn't recorded as well as the headphones forums people seem to think. At least the first couple albums. I didn't make it through Undertow and moved on to...

Korn - Korn

To this day, this album has so much energy, anger, dynamics. It's still one of my all time favorites. Jonathan Davis really laid it all out in this one. And it sounds great! (my original 20 year old CD ripped this time last year) - though I kinda wish I had a sub-woofer hooked up for the sub 20hz notes that I'm pretty sure are in this album

LR...you have inspired me to pull out some of my hard rock albums. I don't listen to hard rock very often these days, but I do like to rock out on occasion. I have all of the albums you mentioned, but there is a Tool album that you may want to check out if you haven't already--Lateralus. Anyway, nice to see a mix of music on this thread.

I also like to include Siamese Dream in my rock out sessions. Our band used to play a couple tracks from SD back in high school ('Mayonaise" was one of my favorites) and that album continues to amaze me to this day.

Oh...and you are right about a sub for "Blind". I have a REL S5 in my system and it definitely helps.
