Several years ago I would hardly have imagined I'd walk over and select Mozart to put on the player. Playing Dad's music has led me to a great appreciation for many classical composers, and a lot of enjoyment. And classical music is a great genre on Decware components, and can often show you real accuracy in the way that other genres, produced differently, won't.

Back to the Cave for me. The Omega Alinco 6XRS speakers arrived but I'd rather listen to music than unpack speakers...so they'll have to wait. I thought my Vinyl Buy was going to arrive today. Great, I just looked at the tracking and it says it was delivered to my door but when I look... nothing there. I'm not sure why they wouldn't require a signature for over $800 of records. Maybe they'll turn up.

Anyway, This is the first LP...an unopened 45 RPM Music Matters Blue Note reissue.

A Palomino recommendation I just picked up. Eva - Live at Blues Alley. I'm trying out some tubes I picked up on eBay as spares since I managed to damage a couple tubes a couple weeks back....not liking the eBay pickup - I think I'll stick with Stock Decware tubes on the ZMA till something better comes along. Always good to have spares though. :)

My back hurts a bit so I'm putting off unpacking the new Omega Alincos but I did open the box of vinyl that finally arrived late last night. Fed Ex had delivered it to a neighbor, who brought it over.

The first LP is a reissue of Monk's "Brilliant Corners", one of 7 LPs in Analogue Productions LTD ED Box Set called "The Riverside Tenor Sessions"...excellent...

Glad you're enjoying the Riverside set. I've had that music for decades.

Forkin'. . . well I was just being polite, not saying a bad word. One seriously good sounding chunk of music that Ella Gershwin songbook set. Even people who don't think they'd like it probably would.

Still on Disc 2 and then I'll probably be watching the DVR the rest of the night when I get home. Man, the system sounds so good with the DVR!

Yeah, I've had all the Riverside Monk in the Big Complete riverside Box and on some single CDs too but I've only started picking up vinyl so this was an easy way to get 7 great sounding LPs.

The other two Ella Songbooks that are great...all are good...are the Rogers and Hart...and the Cole Porter. But all of the Songbooks are Forking Good!

Luis, you have an excellent Amp and Preamp. Just enjoy and don't worry about something you don't have. I thoroughly enjoy the gear I have and don't plan on an upgrade.

I've read that Stan Getz didn't get along with Chet Baker on this Tour, likely because Getz had kicked his drug habit and Chet Baker was still using Heroin. Baker never made any attempt to quit his habit. Looking at the pic on the album cover, Getz's facial expression says it all. Mark.
